Commercial and Property Law - Bristol

Location: The Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel, College Green, Bristol

Two seminars to be presented by members of Serle Court on topical issues in the fields of Commercial and Property Law. The two seminars will be run in parallel and both start at 5pm.

Commercial Law: Richard Walford, David Drake and Suzanne Rab will speak respectively on: An Introduction to the new Financial List; Conduct and settlement of multi-party disputes, dealing with pitfalls and opportunities for litigants in relation to joinder, settlement and contribution claims; and Recent Developments in Competition Litigation with a focus on the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Property Law: Three Supreme Court decisions in 2015 will form the focus of the property seminar. Christopher Stoner QC will be looking at Marks and Spencer v BNP Paribas, Amy Proferes will be discussing ParkingEye Limited v Beavis, and Andrew Francis will be considering Arnold v Britton. All three speakers will demonstrate the importance of these decisions and their application to issues arising in property disputes, such as rectification of documents, penalty clauses and the construction of restrictive covenants.
