Legal 500 2009

09.09.09

In the new edition of the Legal 500 directory, Serle Court has received 10 more individual entries and has been promoted in the set rankings in Banking and finance and Insolvency. The total individual barrister recommendations now stands at 95 and Serle Court as a whole is recommended in 10 practice areas. Legal 500 commented: “Serle Court can handle the bulk of recessionary disputes; including in banking and finance, where it is promoted. Philip Jones QC and Philip Marshall QC are key figures here. Traditional chancery strengths are private client, insolvency and company law; Victor Joffe QC is expert in many. The set’s offshore work is palpably strong and handled with discretion. Among the juniors, Daniel Lightman is ‘approachable, sensitive to client needs and has good instincts‘. 2008 silk, Nicholas Lavender QC has a ‘laid-back, laconic style - and is never ruffled‘.”
