Serle Court and James Brightwell take home awards at Citywealth’s Magic Circle Awards 2021

We are delighted to announce that Serle Court has won GOLD for ‘Chambers of the Year,’ and James Brightwell has won SILVER for ‘Barrister of the Year‘ at Citywealth’s Magic Circle Awards 2021. At a Virtual Awards Gala on Monday 17th May, the two awards were presented to Serle Court. The prestigious awards were established 16 years ago to highlight the excellence of the advisers and managers in the private wealth industry.

Karen Jones, Editor of Citywealth commented;

“A tough year for the world proved to be a catalyst for wealth management as the necessity to sort out personal affairs came into focus. Congratulations to our 2021 Magic Circle Awards winners who stepped up for clients and embraced all challenges a digital world delivered.”

Serle Court is widely acknowledged as a leading set for both contentious and non-contentious trusts and probate work. Members’ work and expertise include both onshore and offshore trusts and probate litigation, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975 and as well as charities work.

James Brightwell is top-ranked by Chambers Global for his trusts and offshore work: “he is quick and clever and he understands everything. You can count on him to do exactly what he says he will”, he has “strong tactical nous” and “marvellous attention to detail.” Much of his work is offshore and almost all of it has an international aspect. He has particular experience of litigation in Jersey and Guernsey. A co-author of the 20th edition of Lewin on Trusts, James is recognised as an expert in trusts law and is described in Legal 500 as a “hardworking and enthusiastic trust specialist”.

We would like to thank our clients for their ongoing support, and the Citywealth judges for recognising Serle Court’s expertise in the industry.
