How We Work

A Seamless, Multi-Disciplinary Approach

A key strength lies in the breadth of our services, combining deep technical expertise with specialist knowledge across core practice areas. We can provide multi-disciplinary teams to handle cases involving multiple subjects, legal categories and jurisdictions. This integrated approach ensures consistency, efficiency and coherence throughout the life of every case.

Clear, Practical & Commercial Advice

While litigation is at the heart of our work, we also provide wide-ranging advisory services across all our practice areas.  Our barristers combine rigorous legal analysis with commercial insight, delivering clear, pragmatic and solutions-focused advice.

A Strong International Outlook

Our members have significant experience across international and offshore courts and tribunals, regularly appearing, advising and providing expert evidence on English law worldwide.  Wherever disputes arise, we offer clients the required strategic support and global perspective to navigate cross-border and multi-jurisdictional challenges.

Robust Conflict Management Systems

Our members are frequently instructed on opposing sides of major disputes.  We maintain robust, modern systems to effectively manage conflicts and give clients complete confidence that their interests are fully protected.

Effective Routes to Dispute Resolution

We provide clients with effective, commercially sound options for settling disputes and achieving successful outcomes both inside and outside the courtroom.  Serle Court has long been at the forefront of alternative dispute resolution. We have an exceptionally strong bench of mediators and arbitrators, complemented by many barristers with extensive experience appearing in ADR forums.

Our History

Serle Court came into existence in late 1999 as the product of the merger of two illustrious sets practising from Thirteen Old Square, Lincoln’s Inn and One Hare Court in the Temple. The One Hare Court and Thirteen Old Square barristers moved together to a new flagship building in Lincoln’s Inn, and both adopted that building’s name, Serle Court, as the name for the merged Chambers.
