Our Ethos

Serle Court recognises the importance of providing a positive and supportive working environment for our barristers and staff. Having a happy working environment and an appropriate balance between life and work have been cornerstone values of Chambers since its inception in 2000. 

As Chambers grows and modernises, we acknowledge the importance of maintaining this collegiate working environment and the need to ensure that all of our policies and practices enable us to do this. For example, Serle Court’s Equality and Diversity policy has aims which include:

Serle Court has women in various positions of leadership, and a Head of People and EDI in its staff. She is responsible for maintaining a thriving workplace for staff, helping providing a professional experience for those seeking and undertaking pupillage with us, for co-ordinating our outreach efforts and guiding us with the diversity initiatives and projects of our established Equality, Diversity and Wellbeing Committee. The work of that committee permeates all aspects of Chambers.
