Business and Property Courts Forum

BPC Bristol Forum will host the second seminar of its continuing series. The theme is interim relief and joinder of parties, and the event will be held at Osborne Clarke’s new offices (Halo, Counterslip, Bristol BS1 6AJ). 

Christopher Stoner KC will speak from 5:40-6:00 PM on 'What is arguable?' Consideration of the Court of Appeal’s recent decision in Unitel S.A. v Isabel dos Santos [2024] EWCA Civ 1109 and, in particular, the appropriate test to be applied by the Court when considering the grant of a freezing order as well as the appropriate approach to the costs of such applications.

6:20 - 6:40 – Joinder of parties in more than one capacity: Consideration of Cotham School v Bristol City Council and the issues which arise where litigants who have more than one capacity seek to be joined to proceedings in those two or more capacities separately (His Honour Judge Paul Matthews, Resident Chancery Judge of the Business and Property Courts in Bristol).
