ICC FraudNet 37th International Conference & Meeting - Accra, Ghana

Andrew Moran KC will be speaking at the 37th ICC FraudNet International Conference & Meeting taking place in Accra, Ghana, from 27 - 29 April 2023. 

Andrew will be speaking on Friday, 28th April alongside Augustine Kidisil (Ferociter) on the 15:00 pm (UTC +0) session: "The African Single Market and the present regime for Enforcement of foreign judgments in Africa". Babajide Ogundipe (Sofunde Osakwe Ogundipe & Belgore) will be moderating this panel. 

Andrew is the co-author of the second edition of 'Commercial Litigation in Anglophone Africa', a leading text which details the broad framework of the private international law rules in operation in each of the sixteen Anglophone jurisdictions considered; Botswana, Gambia, Ghana, Eswatini, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa,  Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The text identifies and provides a refined explanation of the law to be applied as it relates to:

(i) civil jurisdiction over commercial disputes involving a foreign element;

(ii) the enforcement of foreign judgments; and

(iii) the availability and nature of the interim remedies in each of the sixteen jurisdictions addressed.
