Informa Connect 6th Annual Asset Recovery International Conference 2024

Location: The Conrad, Dublin

Serle Court is Bronze Sponsor at Informa Connect's 6th Annual Asset Recovery International Conference 2024 taking place from 28 February - 1 March 2024 in Dublin.

Our Head of Chambers, Elizabeth Jones KC will be speaking on Thursday 29 February at 11:55 alongside Sarocha Thongperm (Weerawong, Chinnavat & Partners), Kostiantyn Likarchuk (Avellum) and Charlotte Bhania (PCB Byrne) on the following panel session:

  • The dog ate my defence – defending the indefensible - asset recovery litigation tactics.  In some cases, there is no winning defence. How can lawyers best protect clients who have an arguable defence, but in reality are bound to lose? What tactics should they deploy – from early settlement offers, through to a war of attrition?

Elizabeth Jones KC is ranked in Band 1 for Civil Fraud, Commercial Litigation and Offshore by Legal 500, and in Band 1 for Commercial Dispute Resolution, Commercial Chancery, Traditional Chancery, Offshore and Trusts by Chambers and Partners. Liz’s practice sits firmly where commercial litigation, fraud and private client meet. Most of Liz’s cases involve several jurisdictions; she frequently works in the Channel Islands and is called in the BVI, and she is currently running a case which spans Kentucky, BVI, New Zealand and Australia as well as the UK. Liz is noted by clients and directories for her highly persuasive advocacy and presence in court, her attention to detail and her ability to master and control very large-scale litigation.

Our barristers consistently appear in the Commercial Court’s and Chancery Division’s most substantial civil fraud actions, handling “matters of the greatest worth and complexity” (Legal 500). Serle Court “offers a variety of skill sets that others can’t provide, and houses some of the biggest names at the Bar” (Chambers and Partners). One of the things which differentiates Serle Court is our ability to combine our technical knowledge and long experience in the field of civil fraud with our expertise in fields from banking/financial services and company/insolvency to fiduciary relationships and trusts.

Justin Higgo KC and Jennifer Meech will also be attending this conference, accompanied by Senior Practice Manager, Arron Snipe.
