John Machell KC will be speaking at the STEP Cayman Conference 2023 International Wealth Structuring Forum taking place on 19th and 20th January 2023 at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. 

John will be speaking on day 2 at the option 4 breakout session, 'Dealing with insolvent trusts and wasting assets' alongside Andrew Peedom TEP (Collas Crill) and Philippa Stokes TEP, R&H Trust and Corporate (Operating as the R&H Trust Co. Ltd.).

• Does a former trustee have a proprietary right to the trust assets with respect to its costs in proceedings relating to a trust? The panel will consider the nature of a trustee's right of indemnity – particularly where trust liabilities exceed the value of trust assets – and discuss what trustees need to consider in light of a recent decision of the Privy Council.

This event will explore a range of topical issues pertinent to the trust industry with a special focus on wealth structuring.
