The View from the Top: Recent Insolvency (and Related) Decisions in the Supreme Court

Location: Serle Court, 6 New Square, Lincoln's Inn, WC2A 3QS

New year, new session of Serle Court’s Morning Brief: Insolvency Insights — a series of breakfast seminars presented by our insolvency experts.

This year has seen an unusual number of insolvency cases decided by the Supreme Court.

On Thursday, 15 January, Rob Mundy KC and Jennifer Meech, chaired by Lance Ashworth KC, will dissect four of them: Rukhadze v Recovery Partners GP Ltd [2025] UKSC 10; Stevens v Hotel Portfolio II UK Ltd [2025] UKSC 28; Bilta v Tradition Financial Services Ltd [2025] UKSC 18; and Mitchell v Al Jaber [2025] UKSC 43.

How have these cases developed the law? How might the law develop yet? What do these cases mean for insolvency litigation in 2026 and beyond?
