Michael Walsh and Sparsh Garg interviewed by Law360

Our new tenants, Michael Walsh and Sparsh Garg, have been interviewed by Law360 following their arrival at Serle Court.

Michael discussed his practice, which encompasses property, commercial chancery and professional liability matters. He further discussed his particular expertise in mortgage fraud and commercial transactions involving disputed documents and dishonesty, stating that he often handles cases involving property in England or Wales but where there is also an international element. Senior Clerk Dan Wheeler also joined the interview, providing insights into how Serle Court’s recent expansion allows the set to react to the changes in the litigation landscape and provide a cohesive chancery commercial service to its clients.

Enthusing Michael's join, senior clerk Dan Wheeler commented that commercial property is an area where chambers is trying to raise its profile, with Michael's join adding to this significantly.

Michael continued with an outline of his work for the UK government, having been appointed to the Attorney General's A Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown – an appointment that sees him acting for a range of government departments across all courts and tribunals.

In relation to his joining, Sparsh outlined his main practice areas, including company law, insolvency, trusts and estates litigation and commercial disputes. He further highlighted that he regularly appears not only in England but also offshore in jurisdictions such as the channel islands, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands.

Sparsh also noted that he had been developing a specialist private client practice but is now looking to expand into a wider range of commercial chancery work, a pursuit that led him to join Serle Court.

In closing, Dan Wheeler echoed his earlier thoughts, commenting that both Michael and Sparsh are excellent additions to chambers, with their high-calibre work enhancing Serle Court's stellar offering.
