Courses overview:
Course 1: CURRENT THEMES IN DIGITAL REGULATION
Wide-ranging and unprecedented reforms are underway in regulation of the digital sector to address issues which require case-by-case assessment. A new Digital Markets Unit has been formed within the UK Competition and Markets Authority. The EU Digital Markets Act introduces a new market investigation instrument to tackle perceived lack of competition in digital markets.
In this fast-moving regulatory environment, this short course provides a practical immersion into legal, policy and regulatory issues in digitised transactions. This course is two half days, online and is priced at £495 (VAT exempt)
The course is led by Professor Suzanne Rab, Professor of Commercial Law at Brunel Law School and barrister of Serle Court Chambers, bringing insights from private practice as well as engaging deeply with the key legal, policy and economics debates.
Course 2: SUBSIDY CONTROL IN A UK AND INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT
The UK’s framework for subsidy control under the Subsidy Control Act 2022 is new and novel, but it shares some features with other international models of subsidy control.
This evening programme will provide foundational knowledge and understanding of the Subsidy Control Act 2022, which came into force on 4 January 2023. It covers comparative insights from analogues, including the EU State aid regime and the World Trade Organisation (WTO) rules. This course over three evenings is priced at £595 (VAT exempt).
The course is led by Professor Suzanne Rab, Professor of Commercial Law at Brunel Law School and barrister of Serle Court Chambers, bringing insights from private practice as well as engaging deeply with the key legal, policy and economics debates. Guest facilitation will be provided by David Blayney KC of Serle Court on Day Three.
