Chambers welcomes two new tenants

Serle Court is pleased to announce that Nia Moseley-Roberts and Shaun Matos have joined chambers as our newest junior tenants.

Nia joined Chambers in March 2026 after successfully completing pupillage under the supervision of Harry Martin, Michael Walsh KC, and Jonathan Upton KC.

Nia is building a broad commercial and chancery practice across Chambers' core specialisms. As a pupil, Nia worked on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters including property, private client, offshore and international, and professional negligence.

Nia studied English at Clare Collage, Cambridge, graduating with double-first class honours and several university prizes. She then pursued postgraduate study at Oxford before completing the GDL and Bar Course at BPP, funded by scholarships from Gray's Inn.

Shaun joined Chambers in March 2026 after completing a period as a probationary tenant under the supervision of Gareth Tilley and Jonathan McDonagh.

Shaun is building a broad commercial and chancery practice across Chambers’ core specialisms. He has assisted on a wide range of matters including commercial litigation, civil fraud, banking & finance, arbitration and international/offshore work.

Before coming to the Bar, Shaun obtained a PhD in Law and LLM at University College London, and a BA in Law from King’s College, University of Cambridge. Alongside his PhD studies, Shaun worked as a research assistant to Professor Philippe Sands KC, including on several investor-State disputes, CAS disputes and cases before the International Court of Justice. Shaun has also assisted Professor Paul Davies with various commercial law research projects (including updating Snell’s Equity).

Shaun has taught various modules at both undergraduate and graduate level at UCL, including contract law, trusts law conflict of laws and international investment law. He has published several journal articles on a range of commercial and international law topics and his work has been cited by the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council and the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal. Before starting his PhD studies, Shaun worked as an intern in the dispute resolution teams of Fietta LLP in London and Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in Hong Kong.
