Leading commercial chancery barrister joins Serle Court
Serle Court is pleased to announce that leading commercial chancery Giselle McGowan has joined Chambers.
Giselle’s practice covers a wide range of commercial chancery litigation, with particular emphasis on insolvency, indirect tax and property litigation. Giselle has a versatile practice, regularly appearing in Courts and Tribunals for creditors, debtors, office-holders, directors, government departments, landlords and tenants alike.
Prior to joining the Independent Bar, Giselle was an employed barrister at HMRC Solicitor’s Office, working in the Enforcement & Insolvency and VAT teams.
Giselle commented, “I am delighted to be joining Serle Court, with its reputation for excellence across the commercial chancery spectrum. I look forward to continuing working with my existing clients whilst developing my practice alongside barristers who are leaders in their field”.
Chambers Director, Kathryn Purkis says, “Giselle is a superb insolvency and company lawyer who has worked on a fascinating range of issues, particularly as part of her government practice. I have no doubt that her skill and experience will be snapped up by our clients as she seeks, with us, to broaden her practice in the private sector. We are very happy to have her on board, and delighted also that her ancillary expertise in commercial landlord and tenant work will further strengthen our growing property practice.”
