Legal Cheek Awards - Shortlisted for Best Chambers for Work/Life Balance 2021

Serle Court is delighted to be shortlisted for Best Chambers for Work/Life Balance at the Legal Cheek Awards 2021.  Serle Court prides itself upon its approach to the wellbeing of its barristers, pupils, clerks and staff and as such we have made positive steps to ensure that chambers seeks to provide a supportive working environment for all concerned.

We aim to ensure that all members of Chambers have a sense of autonomy and voice, and feel supported by colleagues and managers at all levels.

Our barristers regularly discuss work/life balance matters through Practice Development Meetings with our clerks, and our pupils are encouraged to discuss the same with their individual pupillage mentors.

Serle Court believes that wellbeing is a key ingredient to business success.  In a feature piece for the Law Society Gazette last year, Serle Court's Chief Executive John Petrie MBE commented;

“Until we realise that the wellbeing of staff is the most crucial element of business success and approach this matter conscientiously with full understanding, we are far away from achieving the rewards.”
