Silks Day 2023 - Dan McCourt Fritz takes silk at 15 years call

On Monday, 27th March 2023, Serle Court’s youngest KC, Dan McCourt Fritz, took silk. At only 15 years call, Dan is among the first of his 2007 cohort to be appointed King's Counsel.

Dan commented on his appointment as KC:

"It is a great privilege to take silk. I have taken great satisfaction from both my claimant and defendant's work over the years. I am incredibly proud to be recognised for this work with one of the highest honours available to an English lawyer. Whilst the grandeur of the event was certainly surreal, surrounded by friends and colleagues, I was most happy to share this occasion with my family. I am also especially grateful to my colleagues and good friends Hugh Norbury KC and Justin Higgo KC (among other silks in and outside chambers), two exceptional barristers who have been key mentors in my career and to whom I owe a great deal."

Kathryn Purkis, Chambers Director at Serle Court, said:

"We at Serle Court are delighted and very proud that Dan has taken silk. It is a remarkable achievement at only fifteen years' call, the more so because he practices across a wide range of heavyweight chancery commercial practice areas rather than in a niche where a name can be more readily established. This is a new phase in an already stellar career, but not one that surprises us - and we look forward to seeing Dan go from strength to strength in the years ahead."

Before taking silk, Dan was one of the most sought-after juniors at the Bar, recognised by the main directories as a leading practitioner in civil fraud, offshore work, chancery commercial, commercial disputes and company and partnership Law. Dan's practice centres on three inter-related specialisms: company law, civil fraud and trust disputes, often with an international element.
