Trusts Jurisdiction and Conflict of Laws Issues - Conference

Prof. Jonathan Harris will be chairing an IBC conference on Trusts Jurisdiction and Conflict of Laws Issues in the onshore and offshore world on 10 December 2014 at the Kensington Close Hotel, London.

It includes analysis of the revised Judgments Regulation (in force from January 2015), trusts arbitration, offshore firewall legislation and the Hague Trusts Convention. It also covers the protection of trusts from foreign divorce, matrimonial property, succession and insolvency claims; as well as cross-border planning and drafting issues. Jonathan Harris is author of the leading work on the Hague Trusts Convention and  an editor of Dicey, Morris and Collins, The Conflict of Laws.

Dominic Dowley QC will be speaking on the effect of foreign forced heirship rules on trusts, in the light of the decision in Earl of Durham v Lambton (in which both he and Jonathan Harris were instructed).
