The European Young Bar Association (EYBA): International Weekend

Michael Edenborough KC and Stephanie Wickenden will be speak at The European Young Bar Association (EYBA) International Weekend on Saturday, 30th September at Mishcon de Reya's offices.

Michael and Stephanie will be speaking at 11.45 am. Their seminar will outline "intellectual property protection of cultural icons". 

The European Young Bar Association (EYBA), Young Bar of England & Wales (YBC), Junior Lawyers Division (JLD) and the London Young Lawyers Group (LYLG) are delighted to present international weekend 2023, which is taking place from 28 September – 1 October 2023 in London.

Michael’s practice involves advice and advocacy on infringement and validity issues concerning all types of IPRs. As such, he deals with declarations of invalidity, revocation, rectification and cancellation of registered intellectual property rights such as trade marks, registered designs and patents. He is often instructed in cases involving the main unregistered IPRs such as goodwill, copyright, designs and confidential information, and also the more unusual rights such as plant varieties, moral rights, database rights and geographical indications.

Stephanie specialises in Intellectual Property, Art and Media law. She also accepts instructions on broader commercial issues pertaining to the creative and technology sectors, such as contractual and tortious IT disputes or advice on IP transactions and licensing. A significant proportion of her practice involves an international element and she has experience in cases with disputed jurisdiction, foreign law, and service and enforcement out of the jurisdiction.

The theme of this year's international weekend is the intersection of the law, arts, culture and the media. The weekend provides delegates with a mix of technical seminars, skills-based seminars, an overview of the legal system in England and Wales and an introduction to the City of London.
