Sir Raymond Jack was called to the Bar in 1966 specialising in Commercial law at 1 Hare Court. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1982 and sat as a Recorder from 1987 to 1991. In 1991 he was appointed a circuit judge and in 1994 he was appointed the first judge of the Bristol Mercantile Court. There he established the reputation of the court, case-managing all cases as well as conducting the trials.
Sir Raymond Jack was later appointed to the High Court, Queen’s Bench Division in 2001. Retiring in January 2011, he continued to sit regularly in the High Court in London on a part time basis trying business cases.
