Minority Shareholders: Law, Practice and Procedure, 6th Edition - Hong Kong book launch

Location: Hong Kong

Daniel Lightman QC, Timothy Collingwood and our Head Clerk, Steven Whitaker will visit Hong Kong during the week commencing Monday 18 February 2019 in order to promote the 6th Edition of Minority Shareholders: Law, Practice and Procedure (OUP).  The team will be visiting various firms, together with former member of Serle Court, Victor Joffe QC, in order to present on some of the legal topics covered in the book.  They will cover the following areas:

Unfair Prejudice and Listed Companies: Victor Joffe QC

Victor Joffe QC of Temple Chambers will discuss the extent to which unfair prejudice proceedings are available to shareholders in listed companies, and the types of relief which are likely to prove of most utility to such shareholders.

Unfair Prejudice – some tactical considerations and insights: Daniel Lightman QC and Timothy Collingwood

Daniel Lightman QC and Timothy Collingwood will address some key, but sometimes overlooked, issues that arise in unfair prejudice proceedings and the tactical considerations that should inform the parties’ conduct from an early stage.

Minority Shareholders: Law, Practice and Procedure is referred to as the most detailed reference source on the law relating to minority shareholders and is the only book to focus on this increasingly topical and important subject.  It covers areas such as: Directors' Duties, Personal Claims, Unfair Prejudice and the Companies Act 2006. The Sixth Edition features a brand new chapter on share purchase orders and valuation, with expanded coverage of the relevant non-UK authorities, including cases from Cayman, BVI, Hong Kong and Singapore.

If you would like to organise a meeting during the week commencing Monday 18 February, to find out more about Minority Shareholders, and the specialist company law service that Serle Court can offer, please contact our Business Development Manager, Charlotte Davidson.
