The Bar European Group held its annual conference in Aix-en-Provence, France on 26-27 May 2024.

The two-day programme covered a range of topics including UK and EU law and practice and areas of divergence and convergence, AI and data, the Digital Markets Act and current hot issues in competition law from ‘killer acquisitions’ to collective actions.

Professor Suzanne Rab participated in a panel session which debated the new UK subsidy control regime and EU law developments in State aid regulation.  Fellow panellists included chair Nicholas Paines KC, Leo Flynn, Principal Legal Adviser at the Commission Legal Service and Director of the AIDE team (State Aid) and George Peretz KC, Monckton Chambers.
