Unexplained Wealth Orders: A Game-Changer or a Distraction?

Location: Online

James Mather will be speaking at the Centre for Financial Crime & Securtiy Studies 'Unexplained Wealth Orders: A Game-Changer or a Distraction?' webinar on Tuesday, 9th June at 16:00.

The webinar takes stock of the successes and shortcomings in the deployment of UWOs over the past two years, and will address questions such as:

1) How well do they match up to the challenges posed by the likes of complex holding structures and challenges of obtaining evidence from abroad?

2) Are they attracting too much focus at the expense of other statutory powers in the fight against economic crime?

3) What light can international experience cast on how best to implement the new powers?

Speakers include:
Anita Clifford, Barrister and Principal Associate, Bright Line Law
James Mather, Barrister, Serle Court
Alun Milford, Partner, Kingsley Napley LLP and formerly General Counsel, Serious Fraud Office

The discussion will be chaired by Anton Moiseienko, Research Fellow, RUSI, and will be followed by audience Q&A.
