Webinar: Hague Judgments Convention 2019: a new regime for recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in England

Location: Online

We are pleased to annouce that following the Hague Judgments Convention Seminar that was held on Thursday, 22 May, our speakers will now be delivering this talk again as a webinar. This virtual event will be held Thursday, 26 June 2025, commencing at 12:30 - 13:45 PM. Please join us for another session of insightful discussions led by Prof. Jonathan Harris KC (Hon.) (joint general editor of Dicey, Morris and Collins, The Conflict of Laws),  Adil Mohamedbhai and Niamh Herrett.

The Hague Judgments Convention 2019 enters into force in England on 1 July 2025 and is of great practical importance for the cross-border recovery of assets. It is the first worldwide convention on recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments; and will re-establish a regime for the mutual enforcement of judgments with EU Member States. In this seminar, using a series of case studies, we will explore how the Convention operates and the practical impact that it will have on cross-border commercial and chancery litigation.
