James Mather The Clash bassist, Paul Simonon in the High Court

James Mather has been quoted in The Times, NME, The Sun, The Daily Mail and The Telegraph this week after a recent High Court judgment refusing Tricia Ronane, former manager of the Clash, to sell her shares in company Cut-Throat Productions Ltd, jointly owned with ex-husband, Paul Simonon. James Mather, who represented Paul Simonon, said "a new business partner might want to invest some of the Clash royalties rather than withdraw them." He added that the "50% shareholding in the company was not meant to be an asset to be sold but a means to allow the former couple to split the band's money." The judgment highlights the issues of continuing to share royalties following a divorce.
