James Weale admitted to the BVI Bar

Serle Court is delighted to announce that James Weale has been called to The British Virgin Islands Bar. The announcement is made today, Tuesday, 29th September 2020. James has a very busy commercial practice with a focus on domestic and international commercial and trusts disputes. He is recognised as a leading practitioner in those fields in Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, Chambers Global, Chambers High Net Worth, and Who’s Who Legal where he is described as a ‘brilliant lawyer’ and a ‘superstar’.

James is also recognised in The Legal 500 Commercial EMEA-UAE Guide. He has been involved in the forthcoming publication of the DIFC Courts Law and Practice, recently published. He also acted in the State Bank of Mauritius in a claim arising out of a USD30 million fraud, appearing in the DIFC Court as a sole advocate to obtain a freezing order successfully.

James has impressive experience, he is strategically capable and a good advocate, who is praised for his interactions with clients. He handles a broad range of chancery cases from professional negligence and Inheritance Act claims to contractual and property disputes.
