In this article, considers some of the many predictable flashpoint issues arising from the second-order effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and which threaten to spill-over into legal disputes. She examines how alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods, such as mediation, could be deployed to deal with the inevitable influx of cases and, potentially, through focused mediation programmes. She also looks at how technological solutions or "virtual mediation", which simulate physical contact, can be incorporated into these programmes.
