International Women’s Day 2023

This month Serle Court will attend several events to celebrate and support International Women’s Day on Wednesday, 8th March 2023. The #EmbraceEquity campaign theme aims to get the world talking about why equal opportunities aren't enough. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action.

Serle Court is taking part in the following events:

Monday, 6 March

  • UCL Law Society Women in Law Event: Zoe O’Sullivan KC will be speaking at this event. Serle Court sponsors this society and looks forward to meeting attendees at this event.

Wednesday, 8 March

  • Women in Wills Lunch: Constance McDonnell KC will appear as the guest speaker discussing the future of the judicial system, looking at the likely changes that will be implemented within the next 10 years. She will be presenting her thoughts on Judge-led ADR, focusing on how this process of judicial dispute resolution “without prejudice” will provide a time-saving alternative to negotiation, helping to address the backlog in the courts. She will also be discussing the place of technology in relation to will writing, reflecting on what we have learnt from the inclusion of technology as a result of the pandemic. Full-time mediator, Jennifer Haywood, will also attend the lunch.

  • Celebrating International Women's Day with Withersworldwide and OX Delivers: Professor Suzanne Rab will be attending.

  • Women in Mediation Podcast: Professor Suzanne Rab will appear in the latest Women in Mediation Podcast to celebrate International Women's Day. In this episode, Suzanne outlines her journey in mediation and provides advice for other women in mediation.

Thursday, 9th March

  • Private Client Global Elite International Women’s Day Brunch in partnership with Serle Court. After opening comments from the chairs, Rosie Schumm and Anita Franklin, Constance McDonnell KC will run the ‘Open Forum’ on Challenges We are Facing.
