Michael Edenborough QC “Land Rover Defender lacks ‘distinctiveness’, court rules”

Michael Edenborough QC was invited by Intellectual Property Magazine to comment on the UK court’s ruling against Jaguar Land Rover’s attempt to trade mark the shape of the ‘Defender’.  The decision allows Ineos Group to now go ahead and launch their Grenadier off-roader, which it acknowledges was inspired by Land Rover’s Defender.
