Professor Suzanne Rab BBC Business Briefing Interview

Professor Suzanne Rab was interviewed by Sally Bundock for the BBC Business Briefing this morning to discuss the future of tech regulation. She spoke against a backdrop of increasing antitrust scrutiny of the sector on both sides of the Atlantic and in the wake of Joe Biden’s incoming administration.  Suzanne spoke about the potential impact for Facebook, Amazon, Apple, and some other tech organisations.  Suzanne was asked to give her views on the European commission’s investigations into Amazon’s alleged breach of antitrust rules, with a new probe announced on 10 November alleging that its practices distort competition in online retail markets.  It seems that the sector should expect no let-up in scrutiny from the US agencies and lawmakers, with potentially an escalation in intervention.

Suzanne, will be hosting a "State Aid in Uncertain Times: COVID-19 and looking ahead to the UK’s new regime" Webinar on Tuesday, 24th November at 10 AM. For more info, please click here.
