Professor Suzanne Rab discusses Uber legal challenges on Business Briefing BBC World News

Professor Suzanne Rab was invited by the Business Briefing on BBC World News yesterday morning at 5.30am to comment on the legal challenges that Uber face following a Californian Court’s decision to refuse to grant Uber Technologies Inc and Lyft Inc more time to appeal California Attorney General Xavier Becerra's decision requiring the ride-hailing companies to classify drivers in California as employees. The ruling was in response to a preliminary injunction filed by the Attorney General as part of a lawsuit alleging the companies are in violation of the state’s AB5 law that went into effect on January 1st.  Suzanne gave her legal insight reflecting on the approach in other jurisdictions, including in the UK where a Supreme Court judgment is awaited on similar issues.
