the Personal Insolvency Litigation Advice and Representation Scheme nominated for a Special Award for Pro Bono Service
We are delighted that the Personal Insolvency Litigation Advice and Representation Scheme (PILARS), which Serle Court's Matthew Morrison helps to run, has been nominated for a Special Award for Pro Bono Service at the annual Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency Awards. PILARS provides assistance for debtors or bankrupts in the High Court when they are not entitled to public funding in relation to:
- creditors’ bankruptcy proceedings;
- applications to set aside statutory demands;
- applications to annul bankruptcy orders.
The scheme operates by matching volunteer barristers with the particular needs of the unrepresented individual.
