Isaac Wong is developing a broad commercial chancery practice across Chambers’ practice areas, including commercial litigation, company, civil fraud, private client, insolvency, arbitration, offshore and property work.

He joined chambers in 2025, following the successful completion of pupillage, under the supervision of Jennifer Meech, Matthew Morrison KC, Thomas Elias, Emma Hargreaves, and Michael Walsh KC.

Before joining the Bar, Isaac studied Law at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, graduating with double first-class honours. He then completed the BCL at Oxford with Merit and the BVS at City, University of London with Distinction. He has been awarded multiple scholarships, including the Queen Mother Scholarship from Middle Temple.

Isaac is a non-stipendiary lecturer at Hertford College, Oxford, and a visiting lecturer at King’s College London. He has also obtained the MCIArb qualification.

  • Kijani Resources – Assisted Matthew Morrison KC in proceedings seeking the recovery of a sum over US$100m from a bank as a result of its alleged failures to comply with Quincecare duties, when the claimants were the victims of a major fraud. The proceedings raised novel questions about the scope of the Quincecare duty following the Supreme Court’s decision in Philipp v Barclays Bank.

  • Acted for two shareholders in resisting an unfair prejudice petition where a minority shareholder alleged the existence of an oral shareholders’ agreement.
  • Assisted Daniel Lightman KC in advising a company, whose subscribers failed to formally record the transfer of their shares more than 40 years ago.
  • Assisted Daniel Lighman KC in resisting an application for permission to appeal to the Privy Council on a Guernsey company dispute.
  • Assisted Kuldip Singh KC in a members’ voluntary liquidation where the company had multiple classes of shares.
  • Assisted Emma Hargreaves in a dispute between two camps of shareholders in an unlimited company.

  • Assisted Elizabeth Jones KC (who acted as mediator) in a family trust dispute.
  • Assisted Emma Hargreaves in the application of an anonymity order in an inheritance case where the deceased was a well-known actor.
  • Assisted Emma Hargreaves in a family dispute where parents and their son made competing claims to heirlooms and artworks.
