Property in Practice 003: Developments in Knotweed

Andrew Bruce and Thomas Braithwaite will present the third briefing in our Property in Practice series over breakfast, 'Developments in Knotweed' on Thursday, 23rd November.

Andrew and Tom will consider the following topics:

  • Recent cases and what they tell us about the Courts' approach

About the speakers:

Andrew Bruce
Andrew has a commercial and chancery practice with a particular focus on property-related work.  He is regarded as one of the leading senior juniors in real estate litigation and has been described as “an exceptional talent in the property sphere”. In addition, Andrew  has a noted art law practice and is highly-rated for professional negligence work, acting for both claimants and defendants, in matters ranging from high-profile claims in respect of Old Master Paintings to claims against architects in respect of residential developments and claims against solicitors relating to international corporate transactions.  Andrew also regularly acts in high-value commercial litigation and is a “skillful advocate” who is “effective in digging under the surface to uncover the real issues”.

Thomas Braithwaite
Property disputes form a significant part of Tom's practice, and he is a highly regarded for his work in this area of the law. He has particular experience in more complex real property issues, including manorial and foreshore rights, in respect of which he has frequently been called upon to advise. Described by Chambers UK Bar as "an effective and robust advocate", clients say that "You want Tom on your side in court." Tom was shortlisted for Chancery Junior of the Year at the Legal 500 Bar Awards 2023.
