ThoughtLeaders4 FIRE Middle East 2024

 Zoe O’Sullivan KC  and James Weale will be speaking at the ThoughtLeaders4 FIRE Middle East Conference 2024 taking place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai from Sunday 10 November to Tuesday 12 November.

On Day 1, Monday 11^th at 10:00 AM Zoe will be speaking alongside Ali Khan (AS Legal Consultants, Dubai), Habib Al Mulla (Founder of Habib Al Mulla & Partners, Dubai) and James Abbott (CMS, Dubai) on the ‘Hot Trends and Regulatory Updates for FIRE in the Middle East’  focusing on topics such as:

• Impacts of the UAE being removed from the Financial Task Force grey list
• Analysing the changes to the UAE Arbitration Law
• Impacts for moving towards modern technology and expanding the scope to virtual and online arbitration proceedings
• Using the GCC convention for cross border recovery – tips and tricks

James will be speaking later on that day from 12:20 PM  alongside Ammar El Banna (Incept Legal, UAE), Charlotte Bijlani ( Watson Farley & Williams, Dubai) and Fatima Balfaqeeh  (Balfaqeeh Advocates & Legal Consultants, UAE) on “Getting The Lay of The Land – An Update on Enforcements of Judgments” delving into the following topics:

• An update on the treaties and enforcement across the differing courts
• What are the complications the arise when you have a court judgement
• Honing in on the enforcement of awards within the UAE
