Zoom cannot replace the lifeblood of our courts

Rupert Reed QC is invited by The Times to discuss the real problems with virtual hearings.  Rupert argues that whilst virtual hearings have been fine during Covid-19 they can't hang around post-pandemic.  He argues that cases run more efficiently in person and clients deserve the option of cases being in person, rather than forced into an online only route. Virtual hearings can make trials harder and justice less likely to be served.

If you have a subscription to The Times then you can read Rupert's article from 17 December 2020 here.
