Serle Court is one of the first 10 chambers to sign up to The Chambers Pro Bono Framework

We are very pleased to announce that Serle Court is one of the first 10 chambers to sign up to The Chambers Pro Bono Framework. The Framework is an opportunity for all Chambers in England and Wales to establish their commitment to undertaking pro bono work and improving access to justice.

By signing up to The Framework, each Chambers commits to four actions within a calendar year, these are:

(1) Appoint Pro Bono Champions

(2) Action pro bono work as a Chambers

(3) Organise a seminar on pro bono

(4) Report on the pro bono done

In January, our Pro Bono Champion Matthew Morrison was joined by our Head of Chambers, Elizabeth Jones KC and Gareth Tilley to talk to our members about the importance of pro bono work, and the extent of pro bono opportunities available to barristers, including volunteering for the Chancery Bar Litigant in Person Support Scheme (CLIPS), reviewing and taking on cases for Advocate and appearing before the winding up court with COIN (the Company Insolvency Pro Bono Scheme).  We look forward to incorporating The Framework.
