Caribbean & Bermuda

“Serle Court retains its status among the market-leading offshore sets, with extensive expertise across international trusts, probate and commercial work.”

Legal 500 2025

Serle Court is widely recognised as a leading offshore set for the Caribbean and Bermuda, reflecting the scale and significance of our work in the region.

We offer specialist commercial chancery expertise with deep knowledge of Caribbean legal systems, enabling us to effectively handle disputes involving both nuanced local law and international principles.

We are regularly instructed in high-stakes disputes in the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Bermuda, as well as across the wider Caribbean, including recent notable cases in The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.

Our work includes major disputes involving offshore corporate structures, trusts and fiduciary relationships, often alongside parallel proceedings in England and other jurisdictions.

Several members are admitted to relevant Caribbean Bars, generally or on an ad hoc basis, as required.

Our barristers appear at all levels of court, including regular appearances in appellate courts such as the Cayman Islands Court of Appeal and Bermuda Court of Appeal, and before the Privy Council.

We enjoy close working relationships with leading local Caribbean law firms as well as UK and international firms involved in offshore disputes. Our broad range of clients includes banks and financial institutions, funds, regulators and government bodies, insolvency practitioners, directors and high-net-worth individuals
