Jennifer Meech and Amy Proferes will present the second briefing in our Property in Practice series over breakfast titled, 'They think it’s all over…but is it? Issues between exchange and completion' on Thursday, 12th October.
This seminar examines disputes that may emerge at the last moment of a property sale and aims to equip practitioners with knowledge and strategies to resolve those difficulties. Following an overview of the sale process from contractual negotiations through exchange and completion, Jennifer and Amy will consider various topics in the context of hypothetical clauses and scenarios including:
- The sale of off plan properties
- The requirement for landlord consent to assign
- Service of completion notices
- Last-minute attempts to avoid or delay completion
- Rescission
Jennifer has a wide-ranging commercial chancery practice with a particular emphasis on business disputes. These frequently involve company law, breach of fiduciary duties, joint ventures, partnerships, insolvency and real property issues. She is particularly adept at assisting in cases where these practice areas intersect.
Amy practises across various areas within both traditional and commercial Chancery, including company, wills and trusts, property, and professional negligence. Her practice is a mix of led and unled work, with a significant proportion of the work being advisory.
