International Women’s Day 2019

International Women’s Day celebrates the political, economic, cultural and social achievements of women. In 2019, the themes are to #BalanceforBetter and ‘think equal, build smart, innovate for change’. 2019 marks the 100 year anniversary of women in the legal profession and Serle Court acknowledges with pride the work of all of their powerful and influential female members over the years. Recently we have seen Constance McDonnell being appointed Queens Counsel from Monday 11th March 2019; Emma Hargreaves being recognised for her Chancery work in The Lawyer’s Hot 100; Sophia Hurst being called to the Bar in the British Virgin Islands; and Suzanne Rab becoming Professor of Commercial Law at Brunel University London.

Serle Court is also proud to champion a new generation of women at the Chancery Bar. The recent joiner of Stephanie Wickenden gives us a total of 10 female juniors under 10 year’s call. We think that’s something to shout about, today of all days!
